Indian Standard Scout from 1927.

For the 1920 season Indian brought out a new model, 37-cubic inch (606cc) side-valve Scout V-twin, first presented in October 1919. It was radically different from earlier Indian constructions, it offered much easier handling and more reliability and it opened a new era in the history of the company. Two years later it was followed by 61 ci (1000cc) Chief model, which was basically a bigger Scout, and in 1923 74 ci (1300cc) Big Chief joined the family of Indian V-twins. Scout and Chief are considered to be most important Indian models ever. In 1927 a new Scout version was introduced: Police Special with 45-cubic inch (745cc) engine.
