Troll was the last East Germany scooter model produced by IWL (Industriewerke Ludwigsfelde) in Ludwigsfelde, Brandenburg. In 1963 Troll replaced the earlier model, Berlin. Troll was more expensive then its predecessor (2550 Marks instead of 2300) and it was designed for longer travels. Production lasted only two years. At the end of 1965 IWL was ordered to switch to IFA W 50 truck production. By the time scooter production ended, IWL had built a total of 56,513 units of this model.
